Today, the DCCC released its first TV and radio ads ahead of the general election in TX-23 highlighting why Texans can’t trust Tony Gonzales to serve them in Congress. The ads are airing beginning today.
“Tumbleweed” and “Desprotegido” are running in both English and Spanish and highlight Tony Gonzales’ “health care plan” that would gut protections for patients with pre-existing conditions, including new mothers, patients with asthma, diabetes, and those who have had coronavirus. Gonzales’ spineless loyalty to his Republican Party bosses would leave 300,000 Texans at risk of losing their health care and out to dry. The ad will reach TX-23 voters on San Antonio broadcast serving Spanish and English speakers.
On the radio, “Fight” and “Lucha” are running in both English and Spanish in Odessa. Similar to “Tumbleweed” and “Desprotegido,” the radio ads shed light to Tony Gonzales’ intention to gut protections of Texans with pre-existing conditions. While Gonzales continues to take his orders from Washington Republican leaders, touting his plans to gut the health care of everyday Texans, Gina Ortiz Jones, an Air Force and Iraq War veteran has a different plan: lowering the cost of insurance and prescription medicines and protecting people with pre-existing conditions.
“As Texan families grapple with the deadliest pandemic in recent history, they need a leader who will fight for them in Congress, not Tony Gonzales who wants to serve his party bosses in Washington. Gonzales’ backward priorities would gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions and leave 300,000 Texans out to dry,” said DCCC Spokesperson Fabiola Rodriguez. “Gina Ortiz Jones is an Air Force and Iraq veteran who knows what it means to fight for families.
