Ad Exposes Jefferson Van Drew’s Self-Serving Party Switch, Bad Votes, and Special Interest Ties
Today the DCCC launched its first TV ad in New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District. The ad, which targets vulnerable Republican Jefferson Van Drew, will air on Philadelphia broadcast and cable.
“Reflection” highlights Van Drew’s self-serving and politically motivated party switch, in which he abandoned the voters of the 2nd district and declared his “undying support” to Donald Trump. It also exposes Van Drew’s self-dealing with the special interest backers funding his political campaign.
Jefferson Van Drew pocketed over $700,000 from corporate and special interests. And during the coronavirus pandemic, Van Drew voted against oversight of the use of taxpayer funds, giving massive bailouts to the special interests filling his campaign coffers.
“Party-switching Van Drew abandoned the people of South Jersey, pledged his undying support to the president and was rewarded with hundreds of thousands in corporate and special interest donations,” said DCCC Spokesperson Christine Bennett. “Van Drew is looking out for himself and his donors, not the people of South Jersey, and he will pay the price come November 3rd.”
