WATCH: DCCC TV AD Exposes Maryland Matt Rosendale For His Record as Insurance Commissioner of Not Protecting Montanans With Preexisting Conditions

Rosendale Even Rubberstamped Double-Digit Rate Increases On Health Insurance Premiums for Montanans

Today, the DCCC released a new ad titled “Big Sky,” exposing Maryland Matt Rosendale’s record as Montana’s Insurance Commissioner and spotlighting how he has used his taxpayer funded office to put his donors – the health insurance industry – over the health care needs of Montanans. The TV ad begins airing today on broadcast in every media market across Montana.

As Insurance Commissioner, Rosendale took thousands from the health insurance industry and their CEO’s, while he let them raise insurance premiums on Montanan’s by 23%. Rosendale not only rubberstamped a double-digit rise in premiums, but as Montana’s Insurance Commissioner he pushed junk insurance plans that deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, like asthma, cancer, even coronavirus.

Statement from DCCC Spokesperson Andy Orellana:

“Maryland Matt Rosendale lined his campaign coffers with money from insurance companies and CEOs while serving as Montana’s Insurance Commissioner, and he rubberstamped double-digit premium increases and pushed junk insurance plans that would deny coverage to Montanans with pre-existing conditions like COVID-19 while making those same insurance companies and CEOs rich. Maryland Matt Rosendale’s record speaks for itself: he is just another typical politician who serves his special interest donors, not Montanans.”
