| Former Congresswoman and 20-year U.S. Navy veteran Elaine Luria is out with her first ad in her campaign against vulnerable Republican Jen Kiggans, highlighting her years of service as she once again answers the call to stand up to Washington corruption and fight for Coastal Virginians.
Luria joined MS NOW to talk about her ad and her focus on lowering costs for Coastal Virginians.

Luria: “The top thing I hear from voters is affordability, affordability, affordability. I mean, the cost of living, the cost of gas prices, housing – a bill that is sitting on the president’s desk and he claims is a priority but fails to sign. He laughs at affordability and the cost of living for our communities. The tariffs that the incumbent has supported are driving up costs for every family, about $1,700 a year.”
“We have to do something about it. And, you know, it’s one thing to make promises to the community. But the incumbent [Jen Kiggans], she’s gone to Washington. Said she was going to be an independent voice, look out for people, care about people’s health care. And, you know, as a nurse practitioner herself, you know, voted and applauded the One Big, Beautiful Bill, which is gutting Medicaid. She voted against the ACA premiums.”
“People just want someone to represent them in Washington who cares about them, who cares about their family, and who is going to vote and act in a way that supports people’s families and the community and not just their own political interests and blindly supporting President Trump 100% of the time.”
