WATCH: “THE FILE” IS FOURTH DCCC AD ON SCOTT TAYLOR PETITION SCANDAL

Today, in the race for Virginia’s Second Congressional District, the DCCC announced a new television ad that is the fourth in a series on the petition scandal engulfing Rep. Scott Taylor and his campaign. The ad begins airing in the district today.

The ad, “The File,” again uses news coverage to look at the special prosecutor investigation into what a judge called “out and out fraud” by Taylor’s campaign, Taylor’s staff invoking the Fifth Amendment rather than incriminate themselves, and editorials calling the scandal “shady” and “campaign sleaze.”

“From staffers pleading the Fifth rather than incriminate themselves, to editorial boards calling him out for lying about where he was when the petitions were forged, things are looking worse and worse for Rep. Scott Taylor. If Scott Taylor truly has nothing to hide, then he should stop shielding himself with lawyers and the investigation and let voters know the truth about his involvement in this election fraud scandal.”– DCCC Spokesperson Jacob Peters

Script:

Narrator: As he struggles with an election scandal, the file on Congressman Scott Taylor…is getting thick. Here’s what papers are reporting: A Judge has already found out-and-out fraud. Virginia State Police are investigating. A special prosecutor has been appointed. Five Taylor staffers have invoked their Fifth Amendment rights. And Congressman Taylor refused a subpoena. Papers call it “shady…” and possibly “criminal.” Congressman Scott Taylor. The evidence … is mounting.
