WATCH: FIRST DCCC AD OF CA-48 GENERAL ELECTION TAKES ROHRABACHER TO TASK FOR 30 YEARS IN WASHINGTON SERVING HIMSELF

IRVINE – The DCCC announced its first ad of the general election in California’s 48th Congressional District today. The ad takes embattled Congressman Dana Rohrabacher to task for his three decades in Washington, where he has worked tirelessly to benefit himself while failing to deliver for the people of Orange County.

The ad, YEARS, makes reference to other things that were ‘new’ in 1989, when Rohrabacher was first elected to office, and how since then Rohrabacher has used his position to benefit himself on the taxpayers’ dime. The ads will begin airing in the district on Thursday, September 13th.

“Congressman Dana Rohrabacher has spent his three decades in Washington hard at work… lining his own pockets,” said Drew Godinich, DCCC spokesperson. “From voting 21 times to raise his own pay to leasing a $1,000 a month car on the taxpayers’ dime to charging taxpayers hundreds of thousands for overseas trips, it’s clear that Dana Rohrabacher has grown quite comfortable with the perks of D.C. and sticking the people of Orange County with the bill.”

SCRIPT:

“The Exxon Valdez spill. Back in Nineteen Eighty-Nine. Tiananmen Square. Milli Vanilli. Even email – brand new. So was Congressman Dana Rohrabacher. And somewhere during those thirty years in Washington, Rohrabacher started serving himself… Twenty-one votes to raise his own pay. A pricey car lease we pay for. And hundreds of thousands on taxpayer-funded trips. Whoa. Who knew? Good thing Dana Rohrabacher likes travel…because it’s time for him to go. D-C-C-C is responsible for the content of this advertising.”
