WATCH: First DCCC TV Ad in CO-03 Highlights Lauren Boebert’s Disrespect for Law Enforcement

Today, the DCCC released its first TV ad in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District, “Rule of Law,” which highlights GOP candidate Lauren Boebert’s history of disrespecting the rule of law in Colorado. The ad will air in the Grand Junction and Colorado Springs media markets.

While Boebert claims to be for the rule of law and told others to “behave,” she has repeatedly flouted the law herself. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, she defied health department orders to keep people safe and prevent the spread of the virus. She ignored a law to get a permit license to serve food at a county rodeo where her establishment gave about 80 people food poisoning with spoiled pork. And over the last decade, she has been arrested and ordered to appear in court four times, including one arrest for disorderly conduct and resisting law enforcement.

“Coloradans like leaders who hold themselves to the same standards they live by: respect for the law, working together to get things done, and above all else – independence. Lauren Boebert doesn’t check a single one of those boxes,” said DCCC Spokesperson Brooke Goren. “From resisting arrest by police officers to claiming her friends at FOX News will intervene to save her from her crimes to putting customers’ health at risk at her restaurant, Boebert doesn’t think the law applies to her – and Colorado families can’t trust her to get things done for them in Washington.”

AD TRANSCRIPT:

NARRATOR: Lauren Boebert says she’s for law and order…

But Boebert has been arrested and summonsed to court four times, including being detained and handcuffed after an altercation with law enforcement and she even refused to show up to face the consequences in court – twice.

Here in Colorado we respect law enforcement.

If Lauren Boebert thinks she’s above the law here…

Why would we ever trust her to make laws for us there?
