The ad, “Mission,” uses local news coverage to educate voters about the allegations that Taylor’s campaign committed crimes by forging signatures in order help his chances of getting re-elected.
An investigation by the Virginian Pilot found at least 59 people whose signatures were forged on petitions submitted by Taylor’s campaign for a third party candidate, four of whom were deceased at the time. A special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate Taylor’s campaign, and just in the last few days it has emerged that Taylor called a constituent in the early days of the scandal and tried to intimidate her into dropping allegations that her former neighbor’s signature was forged.
“With every day that passes, and every new detail, the legal problems engulfing Congressman Scott Taylor grow more scandalous and troubling for residents of Virginia’s 2nd District. Scott Taylor is trying to hide from his constituents and deny them answers about his involvement in this growing scandal, but voters deserve to know the truth.“ – DCCC Spokesperson Jacob Peters
