Not only did Congressman John Katko refuse to disavow Donald Trump for months, Katko even praised Trump earlier this year.
In a previously televised interview, Katko said that Trump “has a lot of good principles.”
In addition to praising Trump in the interview, Katko also pledged to support his party’s nominee – even if it was Donald Trump. Katko also admitted that he couldn’t “run the other direction” from Trump.
“Despite his political games, the truth is that Congressman John Katko pledged to support Trump as his party’s nominee and even praised Trump on television for having ‘a lot of good principles’,” said Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC. “Central New York voters deserve to know why Katko praised Trump, even after he insulted POWs, vowed to ban an entire religion from entering America, and attacked women.”
