Watch NC-09 DCCC AD: Senator Bishop chose drug companies over North Carolinians’ health care every time he “had the chance”

Today, in the Special Election for North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District, the DCCC released a new television ad that makes it clear who Senator Bishop has stood up for in his decades as a politician: drug company lobbyists now supporting his Congressional campaign, not the everyday North Carolinians whose health care he has voted to make more expensive.

The ad, “Had the Chance” details how every time Senator Bishop had the chance to make North Carolinians’ health care more affordable he chose to stand with drug companies instead:

“Bishop was the only Republican or Democrat to vote against helping us get cheaper prescription drugs; he voted to let insurance companies charge higher prices for cancer treatments; worst of all, he sided with them to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions.”

Unsurprisingly, now that drug company lobbyists have the chance to repay the favor, they’re supporting Senator Bishop’s campaign for Congress.

“Every time Senator Bishop had the chance to bring down the cost of health care for everyday North Carolinians, he sided with drug companies instead. While drug company lobbyists can count on Senator Bishop, North Carolinians can count on Dan McCready” – DCCC spokesperson Cole Leiter.

TRANSCRIPT:

Health care… It’s so expensive. But when Dan Bishop had the chance to help us, he stood in the way:

Bishop was the only Republican or Democrat to vote against helping us get cheaper prescription drugs;

He voted to let insurance companies charge higher prices for cancer treatments;

Worst of all, he sided with them to deny coverage for pre-existing conditions.

Instead of us, Dan Bishop stood with the drug company lobbyists supporting his campaign.
