Today, the DCCC launched a new ad in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, “Yes Yes Hell Yes,” which highlights how Congressman Don Bacon will always side with his corporate special interest donors, repeatedly voting “Hell Yes” to gut protections for Nebraskans with pre-existing conditions and institute an Age Tax.
While raking in nearly $270,000 from the insurance industry, Don Bacon sided with corporate interests and voted ‘Hell Yes’ on legislation that would cause 175,000 Nebraskans to lose health insurance, increase average marketplace premiums in Nebraska by $1,427, and allow insurance companies to “charge people over 50 over five times more than they charge other people.”
“In Congress, Don Bacon has voted yes, yes, and hell yes to instituting an Age Tax and gutting protections for pre-existing conditions,” said DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “Bacon has proven the only thing Nebraskans can count on is Bacon eagerly answering the call of special interests, even when it hurts everyday working families.”
Ad script:
VO: When Congressman Bacon’s special interest friends ask, he has one answer:
Bacon: I would be a vote yes
Bacon: Yes
Bacon: yes
VO: Worse, Bacon even bragged he was voting “hell yes” to an “age tax” on older Nebraskans.
And “hell yes” to gutting protections for people with pre-existing conditions — even cancer
Congressman Bacon says, YES, YES, and HELL YES to the special interests.
It’s time we said no to him.
