WATCH: NEW DCCC AD LAYS OUT ROSKAM’S DESPICABLE RECORD ON HEALTH CARE, PREEXISTING CONDITIONS

“When we need him most, we just can’t trust Peter Roskam.”

Today, in the race for Illinois’ Sixth Congressional District, the DCCC announced a new television ad that lays out Rep. Peter Roskam’s disastrous record of voting to gut essential health care protections for his constituents – including protections for people with preexisting conditions – while pocketing campaign contributions from the insurance industry. The ad begins airing in the district today, and is the second ad from the DCCC in the race.

The ad, “Any of Us,” paints a powerful picture of Peter Roskam taking hundreds of thousands of dollars from the insurance industry and voting to allow them to charge older Americans and women more and gut protections for people with preexisting conditions.

“When they needed him most, Rep. Peter Roskam sold out his constituents by voting to allow his deep-pocketed donors in the insurance industry to charge women and older Americans more and to gut protections for people with preexisting conditions. Devastating illnesses like cancer and preexisting conditions like asthma and diabetes may not discriminate between campaign donors and ordinary constituents, but Peter Roskam does.” – DCCC Spokesperson Jacob Peters

Script:

Cancer doesn’t discriminate. It can strike any of us.  At any time. But instead of helping us get the care we need… Peter Roskam voted to help insurance companies profit off of us even more. Roskam took nearly 370 thousand from big insurance… and voted to let them gut protections for pre-existing conditions like cancer…And charge older Americans and women more… When we need him most, we just can’t trust Peter Roskam.
