WATCH: New DCCC Ad Slams Andrew Garbarino as Another Albany Politician Out to Gut Our Health Care

Albany Politician Took Tens of Thousands from the Insurance and Drug Industries, Voted Against Protections For Pre-Existing Conditions

Today the DCCC launched its first television ad in New York’s 2nd Congressional District. “Another,” which airs beginning today on New York City broadcast and cable, exposes Albany politician Andrew Garbarino for doing the bidding of drug and insurance companies at the expense of Long Islanders’ health.

Andrew Garbarino has pocketed tens of thousands of dollars from the insurance and drug industries and in Albany, Garbarino voted to let insurance companies stop covering prescriptions, which could impact our ability to get life-saving drugs and vaccines during the pandemic. And Garbarino voted against protections for pre-existing conditions — putting the 308,100 Long Islanders in NY-02 with pre-existing conditions at risk.

REMINDER: Garbarino’s anti-health care votes mirror those of his supporters in Washington who are in court right now fighting to completely eliminate the Affordable Care Act, which would cut coverage for 23,000 people in Long Island and 23 million Americans.

“Albany politician Andrew Garbarino is looking out for his special interest donors, not Long Islanders,” said DCCC Spokesperson Christine Bennett. “Garbarino has taken tens of thousands of dollars from the insurance and drug industries and voted not only to let those companies stop covering prescription drugs but voted against protections for Long Islanders with pre-existing conditions. Long Island families want a representative who has their back, not the back of their special interest donors. Long Island families simply cannot trust Andrew Garbarino.”

TRANSCRIPT

Another day. Another corrupt Albany politician.

Andrew Garbarino took tens of thousands in campaign contributions from the insurance and drug industries and voted to let insurance companies stop covering the costs of our prescriptions which could put life-saving medications and vaccines out of our reach.

Garbarino even voted against protections for preexisting conditions.

If we can’t trust Andrew Garbarino in Albany, why would we trust him in Washington?
