WATCH NEW DCCC ADS: Hey “Audrey,” Who’s My Congressman And Why Is His Healthcare Record So Harmful And Expensive?

In the race for Texas’s 7th Congressional District, the DCCC today announced a new series of television ads that makes clear a simple point: after nearly 20 years in Washington, Houstonians don’t know much about Congressman Culberson, and the more they hear about how he’s been spending his time, the less they like him.

The ads utilize fictionalized conversations TX-07 voters could have with “Audrey” to expose Culberson’s record of voting to make healthcare more expensive and gut protections for people living with pre-existing conditions like asthma, diabetes, and cancer, as well as Culberson’s vote against allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices while taking over $115,000 from the pharmaceutical industry. The ads will begin airing in the district on Wednesday, September 12th.

Congressman Culberson doesn’t have much to say for the nearly 20 years he’s spent in Washington, and there’s a reason that the more Houston families hear about his record, the less they like him. Not only did Congressman Culberson vote to make healthcare more expensive and gut protections for people living with pre-existing conditions, but he stood with pharmaceutical companies instead of seniors who are just trying to afford their medications. Bless his heart, but it’s clear as day that Congressman Culberson has put his special interest backers in Washington before the Houston families that will pay the price.” – DCCC spokesperson Cole Leiter.
