WATCH: New DCCC TV Ad Highlights Chabot’s Shady Record

Today, the DCCC released a new ad in Ohio’s 1st Congressional District, “Conspiracy,” which exposes Steve Chabot’s 24-year record of shady votes and behavior in office.

The FBI investigated Shady Chabot’s campaign after $123,000 went missing – news which led his Campaign Manager to go into hiding and the discovery that his campaign Treasurer didn’t even know he had the job. Shady Chabot also doled out over $150,000, 800% above fair market value, to his son-in-law for alleged updates to his campaign website. And Chabot’s shady behavior doesn’t end there – he also voted over 15 times to repeal protections for pre-existing conditions and institute an Age Tax for his constituents.

“Shady Chabot can’t be trusted to do anything in office but look out for himself and his family,” said DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “In his quarter of a century in office, Chabot led a campaign that was investigated by the FBI, doled out over $150,000 in campaign cash to his son-in-law, and turned around and voted 15 times to gut protections for pre-existing conditions for his constituents. Over 24 years, Chabot has become everything that’s wrong with Washington. Ohioans deserve better.”

Ad Transcript:

VO: There’s something shady about Steve Chabot.

Like the FBI investigation into the hundred and twenty-three thousand dollars his campaign couldn’t account for.

Or his clunky website that he paid his son-in-law a hundred and fifty thousand dollars to run.

Chabot even voted fifteen times to increase health care costs and take away protections for people with pre-existing conditions like asthma, cancer and diabetes.

A Steve Chabot conspiracy?

No.  He’s just a bad Congressman.
