New Ad Reminds Upstate Voters of Claudia Tenney’s “Washington Game”
Today, the DCCC released its second TV ad in New York’s 22nd Congressional District, “Washington Game.” The ad, which demonstrates how Claudia Tenney is supporting her special interest donors, not Upstate New Yorkers, will air in the Syracuse, Binghamton, and Utica markets.
A typical politician, Claudia Tenney played by Washington’s rules, putting special interest donors and big corporations ahead of her constituents. Tenney pocketed hundreds of thousands of dollars from Spectrum and voted to give them a massive tax cut totaling $9.3 billion. On top of that, the insurance industry gifted her over $150,000, and she voted to allow them to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions.
“During her time in office, Claudia Tenney consistently put her special interest donors ahead of her constituents—taking money from special interests in the insurance industry and Spectrum and doing their bidding in Washington,” said DCCC Spokesperson Christine Bennett. “From votes to gut protections for people with pre-existing conditions to massive tax handouts for big corporations, when Tenney followed Washington’s playbook, families in NY-22 lost.”

Narrator:
Claudia Tenney played by the Washington playbook.
She took thousands from Spectrum and voted to give them billions in tax breaks.
And Tenney took over a hundred fifty thousand from the insurance industry and voted to let them gut coverage for people with pre-existing conditions — which could have allowed discrimination against people who’ve suffered from the Coronavirus.
When Claudia Tenney plays the Washington game.
We lose.
