Today, the DCCC released a new television ad in Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, laying out why Nebraskans can’t trust Bacon to do anything other than look out for special interest donors in Washington.
“Cooking” showcases how Bacon has sold out the people he’s supposed to represent by voting “hell yes” to gut protections for pre-existing conditions and institute and Age Tax after receiving more than $269,000 from the insurance industry. Knowing he’s in trouble, Bacon has recently begun trying to rewrite history, claiming he’s always supported protecting pre-existing condition coverage, hoping Nebraskans don’t remember his vote for the AHCA and his support for the pending lawsuit to repeal the Affordable Care Act. The ad will run in the Omaha media market on broadcast and cable starting Thursday.
“Nebraskans can’t trust Congressman Don Bacon to do anything but say ‘hell yes’ to his special interest donors’ agenda, even when that means gutting protections for pre-existing conditions and establishing an Age Tax,” said DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “Three years is more than enough time of Bacon cooking up deals that help his donors but leave Nebraskans out to dry. It’s no wonder voters are ready for a change.”

VO: Congressman Bacon sure loves cooking
But in Washington, Congressman Bacon’s only cooking up deals for his special interest donors
Like when Bacon bragged he voted “hell yes” to let insurance companies slice and dice protections for people with pre-existing conditions, like heart disease.
And “hell yes” to serving up an “age tax” on older Nebraskans
