WATCH: New DCCC TV Ad Reminds Arizonans of Schweikert’s 11 House Ethics Violations

Today, the DCCC launched its 1st TV ad in Arizona’s 6th Congressional District, “Eleven,” which reminds Arizonans that Congressman David Schweikert was found guilty of 11 House Ethics violations.

This summer, the House Ethics Committee concluded a 2-year investigation that found David Schweikert guilty of 11 ethics violations. The report uncovered a troubling pattern of Schweikert using taxpayer-funded staff to raise money for his campaign, perform personal tasks like babysitting, and pay for things like his first-class flight upgrades, dry-cleaning, and expensive meals. In the wake of his corrupt behavior, the House unanimously reprimanded Schweikert, the first time Congress took such a step in 8 years, and he was personally fined $50,000.

“With a unanimous House reprimand hanging over his head for 11 House Ethics violations, Congressman David Schweikert has utterly betrayed his constituents, taking advantage of his elected office for personal gain,” said DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “Schweikert’s actions are a complete disgrace. As we rebuild our economy in the wake of a global pandemic, Arizonans can’t trust Schweikert to do anything but look out for himself. He owes Arizona taxpayers whose dollars he wasted an explanation.”
