WATCH: NEW TV DCCC AD PAINTS STARK CONTRAST BETWEEN MCGRATH’S SERVICE TO COUNTRY & BARR’S SHILLING FOR DONORS

Today, in the race for Kentucky’s Sixth Congressional District, the DCCC announced a new television ad that contrasts Amy McGrath’s record of putting her country first with Rep. Andy Barr’s time in Congress doing the bidding of his special interest donors. The ad begins airing on TV in the district today, and is the first ad from the DCCC in the race.

The ad, “Actions,” illuminates how Rep. Andy Barr has taken tens of thousands of dollars from drug companies, while voting to give them a huge tax break and to allow insurers to stop covering prescription drugs.

“If actions speak louder than words, then Rep. Andy Barr’s track record of putting his special interest donors ahead of Kentucky families is pretty resounding. After pocketing big campaign donations from drug companies, Andy Barr voted to give them a $50 billion tax giveaway. Put that next to Amy McGrath’s selfless record of service to our country and the choice is pretty clear.”– DCCC Spokesperson Jacob Peters

Script:

Actions matter. As a fighter pilot, Amy McGrath flew eighty-nine combat missions defending America. Service. Sacrifice. Honor. Andy Barr’s actions tell a different story. Barr took sixty thousand dollars from drug companies then voted to give the industry a fifty-billion dollar tax break. Barr even voted to allow insurers to stop covering prescription drugs. To Amy McGrath, actions matter.
