Andrew Kaczynski, CNN: “One of the starkest examples that we found of this sort of rhetoric came in February of 2025 when Smith’s account reposted a message from another user. It was addressed to President Trump, urging him to quote ‘do whatever it takes to take our country back’ … It says ‘there are traitors within who deserve to be put on trial for treason. What’s the punishment for treason again?’
Kaczynski: “The punishment for treason is death, or no less than five years imprisonment and a $10,000 fine…”
“He also attended the January 6th rally in D.C. Two weeks before the rally, we found that he urged others to join him in D.C”.
REMINDER: Smith has still refused to disavow this comment suggesting execution for his political opponents or condemn political violence.
