| If it’s a day that ends in the letter ‘y’ it’s likely that vulnerable Republican Congressman Ryan Mackenzie is facing protests from his own constituents.
The latest protest from Lehigh Valley residents called out Congressman Mackenzie for voting to gut Medicaid and food assistance, and for failing to act to prevent skyrocketing health care premiums.

- “He’s already voted to cut SNAP and Medicaid benefits; now will he sit by and let our health insurance premiums skyrocket?” said Lehigh County Commissioner Jon Irons.
- Those premiums will depend on whether the ACA subsidies are extended. In July, Rep. Mackenzie voted for the Big Beautiful Bill which did not include an extension to subsidies and he did the same in November, voting for a budget bill that also did not include an extension of the ACA subsidies.
