Today, the DCCC launched its first TV ad in North Carolina’s 8th Congressional District, hitting Congressman Rich Hudson for going AWOL for North Carolina veterans.
“Consequences” shows voters that Hudson has left veterans behind, skipping out on a vote to give servicemembers a pay raise and voting to underfund the VA by $1 billion. But Hudson’s failure to stand up for his constituents doesn’t end there. In his time in Congress, he’s taken over $400,000 from the pharmaceutical industry and turned around and repeatedly voted to gut Medicare, abandoning the nearly 2 million North Carolinians who rely on Medicare.
This ad will air on cable in the Raleigh-Durham media market beginning today.
“Rich Hudson has gone AWOL on North Carolina veterans and families,” said DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “He abandoned servicemembers stationed in his district who deserve a raise and he actively worked to gut funding to help veterans in his district. Rich Hudson has failed North Carolina veterans and families and is just plain wrong for the district.”
