WATCH: While IL-13 Businesses Suffered, Davis’ Family Benefitted

Today, the DCCC released its fourth TV ad, “Dreams,” which begins airing today in the district. The ad highlights Central Illinoisans who saw their favorite local businesses shut down due to an economic downturn from the pandemic, all while Congressman Davis’ family cut to the front of the line for financial help.

During the pandemic when small businesses in Central Illinois were struggling to stay open, Davis twice voted against transparency for the federal loan program – just days after his own family took more than $1 million in loans.

“From his attempts to keep secret the fact that his family was one of the first in line to receive taxpayer money while local businesses suffered to his disastrous health care record, Congressman Rodney Davis has made it clear that he isn’t looking out for Central Illinoisans,” said DCCC Spokesperson Courtney Rice.

Dreams” is the DCCC’s fourth TV ad in the 13th District, following “Secret,” which focuses on Davis prioritizing himself and his family ahead of local businesses during the pandemic, and “Working For” and “Perfect Match,” which highlight how Davis takes millions in contributions from special interests and votes their way in Washington.

They were our go-to’s.

Our regular hangouts.

The heart and soul of our neighborhoods.

But as their doors shut for the last time…

…unable to get relief during the pandemic…

Rodney Davis’ family got a million dollars in federal help…

…just two days after money was made available.

No wonder Davis voted to keep the list of loan recipients secret.

Try as he might to hide it, Rodney Davis isn’t working for us.
