| Congresswoman Emilia Sykes joined ABC News Live after Ohio’s primary elections to discuss her campaign’s laser-focus on bringing down costs for Ohio families.
Sykes also forcefully called out Republicans for trying to gerrymander their states and silence voters’ voices because they know they can’t win on their extreme, cost-spiking agenda: “Costs are higher than ever – including here in Ohio, where gas prices are almost at $5. That is unheard of.”

- “We have a winning message. We are talking to voters about lowering costs, keeping our communities safe and protecting health care – Medicaid, Social Security – for everyone that we represent.
- “Unfortunately, our colleagues on the other side of the aisle absolutely refuse to deal with what is important to the American citizens – but they don’t have to worry, because Democrats are ready to step in and step up on behalf of the American people.

- “Quite frankly, there is no way for [Republicans] to win or keep the majority without cheating. And that’s exactly what they’re doing… But the fact still remains that they are only cheating because they know that they cannot win. So we are prepared to meet them in the courts, meet them at the ballot box… to vote for a future that thinks of the American public, lowers their costs, keeps them safe, and protects their health care.”
- “We were out today, folks were excited about voting. We had some encouragement, people saying that we have to take our country back. So I’m motivated personally.”
