WHAT KIGGANS VOTED FOR: Virginia Loses $156 Million For Expanding Solar Power [VPM]

Kiggans spent weeks telling Virginians she would protect clean energy tax credits, only to then flip-flop and vote to gut them

Virginia is officially losing out on a $156 million investment thanks to Republican congresswoman Jen Kiggans.
Virginia Public Media reports that thanks to Kiggans’ vote for Republicans’ Big, Ugly Bill, the EPA is canceling millions that were supposed to come to the Commonwealth.

REMINDER: Kiggans spent weeks touting her support for clean energy tax credits, only to then “cast the deciding vote” to gut them… a vote that “put Kiggans at odds with many in her district.”

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Jen Kiggans voted to gut commonsense clean energy tax credits, and now Virginia is suffering from the consequences of her vote. Kiggans’ vote is already costing Virginia millions of dollars, and it will jack up energy costs, eliminate good-paying Virginia Beach jobs, and undermine energy security in Hampton Roads.”
