This week, Virginians tuning into the local news are learning that Yesli Vega (VA-07) was caught on tape pushing the dangerous falsehood that women can’t get pregnant from rape.
At a time when the country is reeling from the roll back of 50 years of reproductive rights, Virginians are seeing how out of touch Yesli Vega is.
“Yesli Vega’s false claim that victims of rape are less likely to become pregnant is an insult to survivors and a deeply troubling assertion from anyone, let alone a candidate for Congress,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “Virginians are seeing Vega for who she really is: a far-right extremist who wants to put their rights on the chopping block.”
