Local headlines across the country are highlighting the impact of upcoming Child Tax Credit payments
Thanks to House Democrats, 39 million American families are set to receive their first Child Tax Credit payment this week. Democrats in Congress have been making sure their communities are aware of this historic middle class tax cut.
From town halls to webinars to child care center visits, House Democrats have spent months on the ground talking with families, explaining how these payments will provide critical relief and put their children on stronger footing as they continue recovering from the pandemic.
“While every single Republican in Congress voted to block this relief and keep cash out of these families’ pockets, Democrats understood that the Child Tax Credit payments would be crucial to helping their communities recover from the pandemic,” said DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre. “As more parents get back to work and kids prepare to go back to school, these payments will help hard-working families cover additional expenses and set their kids up for success.”
