Republican Congresswoman Jen Kiggans voted for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history in order to fund tax cuts to billionaires. Now she is refusing to come home and explain her vote to Virginians.
WTKR reports that “U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine and Congressman Bobby Scott met with Hampton Roads leaders Monday to discuss how the Trump administration’s new budget could impact local families and nonprofits.” Noticeably missing? Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, who represents parts of Hampton Roads.
Instead of facing Virginians and answering questions from the local community, Kiggans’ office issued a statement lying about the impact of her vote. It all begs the question: Why won’t Kiggans meet face-to-face with hardworking Virginians to explain why she voted to screw them over in Washington?
DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Jen Kiggans voted with her DC party bosses in Washington to kick thousands of her Virginia constituents off their health care and jeopardize funding for local hospitals. Now she is refusing to meet face-to-face with community members to explain her vote, because even she knows that gutting Medicaid to give tax cuts to billionaires is indefensible.”
