While Greg Landsman Funds Police, Chabot Keeps Spewing Lies

Rep. Steve Chabot can’t rely on his atrocious record to sway voters, so he and his far-right allies have focused instead on spewing lies in a desperate attempt to trick Ohioans.

In a recent attack ad, Chabot’s Washington allies are once again trying to distort Landsman’s record.

In reality, they couldn’t be further from the truth.

Just this week, Landsman led the charge to raise officer salaries and offer signing bonuses to new recruits in an effort to better support police and keep law enforcement staffed. With recruit levels below projections, Landsman’s advocacy is essential to fostering public safety.

Since the beginning of Landsman’s tenure in office, the police budget has gone up by more than $20 million and is now at the highest level ever.

In the words of the Hamilton County sheriff and a former Cincinnati Police Department officer:

Chabot is being Chabot − running a deeply dishonest campaign to distract from his own record. He’s trying to draw attention away from the fact that he voted against a bill that included $350 million in police and fire funding for cities, townships and counties.

Landsman knows how important it is to keep our families safe. While Chabot spreads what he knows is a lie, Landsman is working hard to keep our neighborhoods safe.
