Last week, House Republicans plowed through their Tax Scam, stripping health care away from 17 million Americans and threatening millions of Americans’ SNAP benefits – representing the largest and cruelest cut to health care in American history.
Congressman George Whitesides fought back against and firmly rejected the bill – which threatens health care for over 38,000 people and food assistance for more than 35,000 households in California’s 27th Congressional District alone. He also introduced amendments throughout the process which would have protected health care and local jobs, while delivering much-needed tax relief to his community.

But this bill rips health care away from our neighbors and takes food off the tables of families who are already struggling with high costs.
