Insider NJ’s latest “Who’s Up and Who’s Down” ranking from Tuesday night’s election officially dubbed Tom Kean Jr. “the night’s most obvious 2025 general election loser.” That says a lot considering Jack Ciatterali got his clock cleaned.
Here’s why Kean Jr. is in trouble: Mikie Sherrill easily carried his district on Tuesday night. In the counties comprising NJ-07, Sherrill earned 54.4% of the vote share, overperforming Harris by 4.8 points. Republican support collapsed in traditional GOP strongholds like Hunterdon County, where suburban and college-educated voters swung sharply toward Democrats.

“Tuesday night’s results confirm what we already know: Career politician Tom Kean Jr. is going to need to start searching for a new line of work.”
