In case you missed it, yesterday Ashley Hinson announced her new post as House Republicans’ Young Guns co-chair to help elect fellow extreme Republican candidates.
But according to a recent CNN report, at least 12 of the Republican candidates Hinson is supporting have embraced falsehoods that the 2020 election was stolen, and one GOP candidate, Derrick Van Orden of WI-03, was on Capitol grounds at the January 6 Insurrection.
Iowans deserve to know: Why is Hinson supporting candidates who are a threat to our democracy — and have wrongly cast doubt on the results of the 2020 and attended the deadly insurrection which cost multiple lives?
“Ashley Hinson must explain why she’s working to elect candidates who are campaigning on baseless election fraud conspiracies and were at the Capitol during the January 6 attack on our democracy,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “This is just the latest example of Hinson being more interested in serving extreme Washington Republican leaders than in working together to deliver results like fixing our roads and bridges and creating good-paying jobs in Iowa.”
