The NRCC has backed at least two alleged child abusers and one sexual harasser, despite already knowing their dangerous and despicable records.

NRCC-backed TX-15 nominee Monica De La Cruz is accused of “cruel and aggressive conduct” toward her former 14-year-old step-daughter, including “verbal abuse and pinching the child to stop her from crying.” Documents also claim that De La Cruz threatened her husband with divorce if he brought his child back home.

NRCC-backed NC-01 nominee Sandy Smith has been accused of a pattern of being physically abusive towards three family members, including her teenage daughter. Smith reportedly pushed, slapped, and held down her daughter, punching her in the face with a closed fist. In addition to other alleged domestic disputes, Smith bashed her ex-husband’s face and tried to run him over with a car.

NRCC-backed WI-03 candidate Derrick Van Orden published a book in which he brags about an incident where he surprised two unsuspecting women by showing them a lieutenant’s swollen genitals.
DCCC spokesperson Tommy Garcia:
“If anyone was wondering how desperate Republicans are for power, look no further than House Republicans’ official campaign arm openly backing candidates who are accused of child abuse and brag about sexual harassment. It is disgusting.”
