Anti-democratic, extremist Republican Tina Peters just announced her campaign to oversee state elections as Secretary of State of Colorado – an ironic choice since Peters is currently under federal investigation for violating election security.
The Mesa County, CO Clerk was stripped of her authority to oversee county election results after she sought to subvert the will of Colorado voters by assisting in the breach of election software, which has led to a federal investigation.
Peters’ history of conspiracy-pushing and voter subversion should disqualify her from a role so integral to the facilitation of free and fair elections in Colorado. Yet her anti-democratic stance has become the Republican party-line from Colorado to Washington, DC – as Lauren Boebert promotes QAnon conspiracy and the RNC deems January 6th’s violent insurrection ‘legitimate political discourse.’
In the midst of this extremist takeover, will Colorado’s congressional Republican primary candidates stand up for Colorado voters, or bend to the anti-democratic agenda of their party?
DCCC Spokesperson Maddy Mundy
“The question is simple – as radical Republicans like Tina Peters and Lauren Boebert pull Colorado Republicans towards extremism and conspiracy, will congressional Republican candidates Barbara Kirkmeyer, Lori Saine and Janifer Kulmann pledge to protect the will of Colorado voters or continue to condone the anti-democratic lies parrotted by their party?”
