Will House Republicans Take Gingrich’s Extreme Advice on Raising Taxes?

House Republicans will listen to Newt Gingrich next week, who praised the NRSC’s tax-raising agenda

House Republicans were eager to call on Newt Gingrich to help write the House GOP agenda – and recently Gingrich “has been advising House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California as Republicans craft a midterm re-election strategy.”

However, Gingrich was quick to praise the NRSC’s extreme tax-raising plancalling it “exciting and encouraging” and saying he “strongly” endorsed it.

The Republican plan would raise taxes on roughly 100 million Americans, including retired seniors, with middle income households paying an average of $450 more in taxes annually.

With Gingrich scheduled to speak next week at House Republicans’ retreat, will their caucus take his advice on this extreme agenda?

Don’t forget: This is also the man who said Republicans should consider jail time for their colleagues on the January 6 committee if they retake the majority.

DCCC spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre:
“Republicans are beyond dangerous for working families. Millions of middle class families would be at risk of having their hard-earned dollars ripped away by a greedy Republican majority.”
