Will Hurd had a chance to stand up for his community and denounce racist comments his party leader, NRCC Chairman Walden, made when he referred to the Mexican-American candidate Pete Gallego as “lazy.” Will Hurd’s campaign refused to say nothing – referring all comments back to his party leaders.
Voters deserve to know if Will Hurd thinks Walden’s comment were racist and offensive. However, Hurd’s refusal to shouldn’t be a shocker to anyone because Will Hurd STILL tries to hide his support for his party’s racist standard bearer, Donald Trump, this November. Voters across the district are seeing new ads now showing that Hurd and Trump share the same dangerous agenda and will not be fooled.
“Will Hurd’s decision to choose silence and to not denounce the racist comment by his party’s leaders is deplorable,” said Javier Gamboa of the DCCC. “By calling a Mexican-American lazy, the head of the NRCC called the majority of Will Hurd’s district lazy, and that type of rhetoric is not welcomed here or anywhere in our great country.”
