Will Juan Ciscomani Sign Discharge Petition to Force a Vote on a 3-Year ACA Tax Credit Extension?

The petition has 214 signatures and needs only four Republicans to force a vote to prevent skyrocketing premiums. Why hasn’t Ciscomani signed on?

Time is running out to prevent Arizonans’ health care premiums from skyrocketing.

Congressman Juan Ciscomani has joined meaningless letters claiming that he wants to do something about the issue. But when push comes to shove, Ciscomani has so far refused to sign onto a measure that would force a vote in the House to extend ACA tax credits for three years. He also refused to try to come to a deal during the government shutdown.

Only four Republican signatures are needed to prevent health care costs from skyrocketing. Arizonans deserve to know: Why has Ciscomani refused to act?

The irony of Ciscomani’s inaction hasn’t been lost on the Arizona Republic or the Arizona Daily Star:

  • “On Obamacare… [Ciscomani] declin[ed] – unlike Democrats – to use his own vote as a bargaining chip.” (Arizona Republic, 11/20/25)
  • Ciscomani says he wants to solve the same problem of health-insurance subsidies that Democrats shut down the government to resolve. He could have worked with them on reaching the solution rather than condemning their efforts.” (Arizona Daily Star op-ed, 11/12/25)

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“If Juan Ciscomani was remotely serious about preventing skyrocketing health care costs, he would join 214 of his colleagues in backing a commonsense measure to extend the ACA tax credits for three years. The fact that Ciscomani is refusing to do so shows he is more interested in playing political games than actually doing anything to help Arizona families.”
