TODAY: Iowa holds special legislative session to enact extreme abortion ban
Mariannette Miller-Meeks – who is so dangerously anti-abortion that she has endorsed a nationwide abortion ban with no exceptions in Congress – has paved the way for the Iowa Legislature to restrict abortion access to 6-weeks – in other words, before most women know they are pregnant.
In Congress, the anti-abortion SBA List endorsed Miller-Meeks has been a rubber-stamp for the extreme MAGA Republican agenda working overtime to rip away fundamental rights and freedoms by:
Co-sponsoring fervently anti-abortion legislation that further eliminates protections for abortion coverage for women with both private and public insurance.
Voting against consideration of the Women’s Health Protection Act which would have codified the reproductive freedoms Roe v. Wade guaranteed before the Supreme Court ripped them away.
DCCC spokesperson Courtney Rice:
“Iowans deserve a representative willing to stand up to attacks from the far-right on fundamental rights and freedoms. Unfortunately for Iowa women, Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ extreme position means she’s likely cheering on the state’s efforts to ban abortion. Come next November, she’ll be held accountable for her dangerous, life threatening agenda.”
