In a recent interview with Newsday, Mazi Pilip “bristled” when asked if she voted for Donald Trump in 2020. The Republican congressional candidate also refused to answer who she’d vote for in the Republican presidential primary.
Pilip, however, has a proven record of falling in line with Republican leadership – and to kick off 2024, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and Majority Whip Tom Emmer announced that they are endorsing Donald Trump, following in the footsteps of their boss, Speaker Mike Johnson, who is “all in” for the disgraced former president.
Extreme House Republican leadership’s endorsement of the defeated former president coincides with Trump’s proclamation that he’ll make a “heavy play” in New York – which begs the question: will Pilip fall in line with the party’s extreme leadership once again and endorse Trump?
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Mazi Pilip will no doubt join her party’s leadership in pushing their dangerous agenda. Voters have repeatedly rejected this extremism at the polls – and the people of Nassau County and Queens will do so again in six weeks.”
