Will Paul Ryan Condemn Don Young’s Comment that Guns Could Have Saved Jewish People From the Holocaust?

Alaska Congressman Don Young’s response to the tragic Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting was to invoke Holocaust conspiracies as an excuse of why nothing should be done to prevent school shootings. As Speaker of the House Paul Ryan owes it the American people to condemn Rep. Young’s comments.

During an event in Juneau, Alaska Young went as far as to say, ““How many Jews were put in the ovens because they were unarmed?”. The Anti-Defamation League has condemned these comments.

“Don Young’s use of Holocaust conspiracy theories to argue against gun safety measures disrespects both the millions who died during the Holocaust and the students, parents, and teachers across the country who are pushing to make their schools and communities safe from gun violence,” said DCCC spokesperson Amanda Sherman. “Paul Ryan should have the courage and decency to condemn Don Young’s vile comments.”
