Will Peter Oberacker Condemn NY Young Republicans’ Embrace of Far-Right German Extremist Following Nazi Hate Chat Scandal?

The GOP Club recently “declar[ed] ‘AfD über alles,’ an adaptation of a phrase associated with the Nazi party.”

Breaking new reporting from POLITICO reveals that the New York Young Republican Club is planning to host Markus Frohnmaier, a far-right German politician and leader in the extremist AfD party, at their annual gala in just a few weeks.

This is a deliberate embrace of Nazi-era rhetoric, further exposing New York Republicans’ deep-seated extremism. The GOP club recently promoted the party using the phrase “AfD über alles” – a statement frequently used in Nazi propaganda, and Germany’s intelligence agency classifies the AfD party as a “proven right-wing extremist organization.”

This comes on the heels of a bombshell investigation revealing that Peter Oberacker’s close political allies and friends, Bobby Walker and Peter Giunta, played prominent roles in a vile GOP group chat where leaders of the state party “fantasiz[ed] about putting their opponents in gas chambers, burning their enemies and joking about their love of Hitler.

As New York Republicans roll out the red carpet for the German extremist, will Peter Oberacker finally take a stand and denounce this extremism in his own political circles?

All Otsego recently reported that both Bobby Walker – who was set to become Oberacker’s campaign manager – and Peter Giunta were at his congressional campaign launch on October 6th, just eight days before Politico reported they were central figures in the GOP hate chat scandal.

DCCC Spokesperson Riya Vashi:
“Peter Oberacker’s pattern is clear: when extremism surfaces in his own circles — whether it’s rape jokes, racist slurs, or praise for Hitler — he refuses to stand up and call it out. Voters deserve to know: will Oberacker fully denounce NY republicans’ efforts to honor Nazi-affiliated German extremist Markus Frohnmaier?”
