As Donald Trump continues to stump across New York, will his biggest cheerleader, No-Show Congressman Lee Zeldin, make a surprise appearance at his upcoming Suffolk County fundraiser later this week?
Trump is slated to attend a fundraiser hosted by the Suffolk County Republican Committee this Thursday in Patchogue Village.
By now, Zeldin has all but endorsed Trump and his reckless rhetoric that insults women and makes our country less safe.
When Trump made a swing through Washington to court lawmakers last fall, Zeldin “broadly praised Trump’s positioning on foreign policy.” According to the ABC News piece, Zeldin even embraced Trump’s reckless and dangerous rhetoric, noting that “Americans want candid, brutally honest, sometimes politically incorrect leadership.” Last month, Zeldin proudly committed to supporting Trump as the eventual nominee.
And the support goes both ways. When Zeldin ran for Congress in 2014, Trump contributed to Zeldin’s campaign and lent his voice to a robocall in support of Zeldin.
“As Donald Trump continues to stump in No-Show Congressman Lee Zeldin’s backyard, will Trump’s biggest fan make a surprise appearance at his Suffolk County fundraiser later this week?” asked Bryan Lesswing at the DCCC. “As No-Show Lee Zeldin continues to embrace Donald Trump’s reckless rhetoric that insults women and makes our country less safe, it’s already clear that both are cut from the same cloth.”
