Will Young Kim Sign Discharge Petition to Force a Vote on a 3-Year ACA Tax Credit Extension?

The petition has 214 signatures and needs only four Republicans to force a vote to prevent skyrocketing premiums. Why hasn’t Kim signed on?

Time is running out to prevent Californians’ health care premiums from skyrocketing – with those reliant on Covered California expected to see a staggering 122% jump in costs on average in the new year if Congress fails to act.

Young Kim has joined meaningless letters claiming that she wants to do something about the issue. But when push comes to shove, Kim has so far refused to sign onto a measure that would force a vote in the House to extend ACA tax credits for three years.

Only four Republican signatures are needed to prevent health care costs from skyrocketing. California voters deserve to know: Why has Kim refused to act?

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Young Kim is known for saying one thing but doing another, and this is just the latest example. If Kim was remotely serious about preventing skyrocketing health care costs, she would join 214 of her colleagues in backing a commonsense measure to extend the ACA tax credits for three years. She refuses to do so because she would rather play political games than actually act to help hardworking California families.”
