Denham, Valadao, and Knight’s records scrutinized on Lilly Ledbetter Anniversary
Today’s anniversary of the historic Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act is a sharp reminder that vulnerable California Republicans Jeff Denham (CA-10), David Valadao (CA-21), and Steve Knight (CA-25) have consistently stood in the way of equal pay.
While in the California State Legislature, Denham voted against a pay equity bill and Knight refused to ask Congress to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act. Once in Congress, all three Republicans blocked consideration of the Paycheck Fairness Act at least twice.
“Denham, Valadao, and Knight are failing Californians with their continued opposition to closing the gender pay gap,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “Californians deserve to know why their representatives won’t stand up for women facing discrimination in the workplace.”
