YA BASTA: Central Valley Latinos Call Out “Do Nothing” David Valadao’s Failure to Deliver

At a press conference in front of Rep. David Valadao’s office in CA-21 on Thursday, the Latino community rallied to vote him out. Farm worker rights movement leader Dolores Huerta, the United Farm Workers union, and several Central Valley Latino leaders cited Valadao’s failure to deliver for his working class Latino constituents. 

On top of “Do Nothing” David Valadao’s failures as a legislator, Central Valley Latinos demanded he follow House ethics rules and disclose who he owed millions of dollars to while running for and serving in Congress.

As an elected representative for Central Valley constituents, Valadao must answer one simple question: who is pulling his strings?

United Farm Workers National Vice President Connie Perez-Andreesen:

“The Central Valley cannot afford two more years of David Valadao’s inaction on the issues impacting farm workers. During his time in Congress, David Valadao has done nothing to fight for better wages, working conditions, and immigration reform. Instead, he spends his time hiding who he owed millions of dollars to while running for and serving in Congress.”

Civil rights leader Dolores Huerta:

“The time is now. All of us here in Kern County, Tulare County and parts of Fresno County, know we have to do whatever we can to fight for our representation.”

Wasco City Councilman Alex Garcia: 

“We’re calling on the community to really make sure that we vote next year. We want to put Valadao on notice that the community and leadership in this district, the 21st Congressional District, are watching. And we are going to hold him accountable in the next election.”
