After more than a decade in Washington, Scott Perry has become exactly the kind of D.C. politician that people hate.
The latest example of Perry’s hypocrisy is on full display: York Dispatch reports that Perry said this week that he supports eliminating mail voting, but records show he himself has voted by mail “many times” – including as recently as three months ago.
Read the new reporting for yourself:

- U.S. Rep. Scott Perry seems to be on board with President Donald Trump’s plan to do away with mail-in ballots — despite himself voting by mail many times since 2008.
- That includes a mail ballot cast in the 2025 primary, according to York County voting records […]
- [Perry] has historically criticized no-excuse mail ballots.
- “I wish I lived in a world with single-day voting, except absentee when necessary, but that’s not the world we have,” Perry said Tuesday.
- Perry’s campaign website contains a section about voting by mail, including deadlines and a link to apply for a mail-in ballot.
- The question about mail ballots came since Trump had posted on Monday on his social media site that he would sign an executive order barring states from using mail ballots and potentially some voting machines.
- Casting ballots through the mail remained popular among voters in last year’s presidential election, according to a report released in June by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission that found a surge in mail voting across the country.
- Almost 42,000 Pennsylvanians voted for Perry on a mail-in ballot in his latest electoral victory, according to state election results. He won that race by roughly 6,000 votes.
