2017 tax law gave a massive handout to Young’s special interest donors at the expense of middle-class Iowans
Yesterday during an appearance on The Insiders, rejected Congressman David Young doubled down on his vote for the disastrous GOP Tax Scam, reiterating his support for the 2017 tax law that gave a massive handout to wealthy corporations while making millions of middle class families pay more over time and putting Medicare and Social Security at risk.
As a Member of Congress, Young took millions from special interests donors to bail out his re-election efforts. In return, he voted to give them billions in tax breaks. The Tax Scam Young voted for gives more than 80% of its benefits to the wealthiest 1% of Americans and a huge handout to large corporations like the ones supporting Young’s political career. The bill even incentivized corporations to ship jobs overseas.
“Less than two months out from election day, rejected Congressman David Young is dead-set on reminding Iowans why they voted him out of office in the first place. In the middle of an economic crisis, Young is doubling down on his support for policies that gave billions of dollars to the wealthiest one percent at the expense of middle class families,” said DCCC Spokesperson Brooke Goren.
