Young Kim is once again running from the consequences of her own actions, this time sending a letter to the Senate begging them to “mitigate” the damage caused by her own vote to gut clean energy tax credits.
Reminder: Clean energy tax credits have secured an estimated $3 million to California’s 40th district – boosting the local economy, lowering energy costs, and creating good-paying jobs that her constituents rely on to support their families.
Kim signed onto two separate letters warning House leadership about exactly what would happen if these credits were slashed — from stalled infrastructure projects to higher utility bills for Californians. Then she cast the deciding vote to do it anyway.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Young Kim can’t have it both ways. She cast the deciding vote to gut clean energy tax credits — jacking up energy costs and halting critical projects before they even begin. Now that the consequences are hitting home, she’s scrambling to cover her tracks. But no amount of meaningless letters can undo the damage of her vote.”
