As the Trump Administration recklessly slashes nearly $8 billion in federal funding for clean energy projects – hitting California hardest of any state – Young Kim is nowhere to be found.
According to the New York Times: “Ms. Kim…stand[s] to lose the most. The largest canceled award would provide $1.2 billion to projects in California focused on the production, transportation and storage of clean hydrogen.”
The cancellation of the Alliance for Renewable Clean Hydrogen Energy Systems project touching parts of Kim’s district threatens 220,000 jobs alone.
Kim’s silence is especially cruel considering:
- Her district was affected directly by the $1.2 billion cut
- She spent months expressing fake concern for clean energy tax credits that she later voted to gut
- She smiles regularly for photo ops touting clean energy projects
REMINDER: After voting for the Big, Ugly Bill earlier this year, Kim admitted she was jeopardizing millions in investments and thousands of good-paying jobs in her district and begged Senate Republican leaders to “mitigate” the negative impacts of her own vote.
But now that D.C. Party Bosses have decided to gut these clean energy projects, it’s crickets from Young Kim.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Californians can’t trust a word Young Kim says. After pretending to champion California’s energy future, Kim is silent while her D.C. party bosses cancel billions for state energy projects and threaten good-paying jobs in her district. Kim’s silence isn’t just deafening — it’s a betrayal.” |
