While Zach Nunn claims to support fertility treatments, the truth is he’s supported legislation that would threaten IVF access and has refused to sign onto a bill that would actually protect it.
Washington Post: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee recently targeted Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-Iowa) and Zachary Nunn (R-Iowa), who both represent swing districts, for declining to sign on to legislation protecting fertility treatments after the Iowa House passed a bill that criminalizes the death of “an unborn person.”
A spokesperson for Nunn passed along a general statement…but did not directly address whether the congressman supports the legislation passed in the Iowa House…
Unfortunately for Nunn, he can’t hide from his record. In the state legislature, he voted for a bill that would jeopardize Iowa women’s access to abortion, birth control, and IVF – which is nearly identical to the Iowa House bill restricting IVF that passed last week.
Now, Nunn is refusing to support legislation that would guarantee the right to IVF.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“Zach Nunn is working overtime to cover up his dangerous record attacking reproductive freedoms. Nunn has been laying the groundwork to jeopardize IVF for years, and Iowans will hold him accountable at the ballot box for trying to decide if, when, and how they should start a family.”
